Amazing Marvin Review: To-Do app
I live off my to-do lists. I have also tried many different ways of keeping them. I’ve tried keeping them on paper in my daily planner (I still do that), I have tried writing them on a little mini easel white board (I do that when I’ve got a ton of things I need to keep on the top of my head), and I’ve tried a number of apps on my phone and computer.
There are so many to-do apps! Todoist, Things 3, TickTick, Google, Microsoft, and Apple each have their own to-do apps — I’ve tried all of these and more which I can’t think of off the top of my head. Most recently I’ve found Amazing Marvin.
This is by far the most clever to-do app not because of how it organizes my to-dos, but because it can mimic any and all of the ones I’ve listed above. Yep, you can decide how Marvin presents your to-dos.
There are seven “mimics”, five different “methodologies” you can choose from (Eisenhower Matrix, G-T-D, Pomodoro Method, etc.), Marvin’s own set-up, and then you can create your own from pre-set modules or “snippets”. This is by far, the most versatile app I’ve ever seen! And the great thing for me, who loves mixing things up, is that you can change what you’ve got, and it will keep all of your information and just reorganize it for you depending on what you’ve chosen. (They do suggest you save your work first.)
